Episode VII: The Rise of Death Wobble (Post #551) 1/3/2016

Everyone is taking their liberties with the latest installment of the Star Wars™ franchise so why not?

This weekend was the first available after the holidays and I had to take advantage of the time and get my bushings replaced on the front end. If you’ve been reading along, I’ve been trying to fix my death wobble (Okierover). I’ve tried lots of things and nothing has helped more than fiddling with the bushings.

Death Wobble Garage Day (Post #549) 11/8/2015

If you’ve been following for any time you’ll have read about my problems with the suspension on the Big White Bus. Mr. Fisher helped me swap out all the tie-rod ends. I thought I blogged about that but I guess I didn’t. In any event, I swapped out the tie-rod ends in an effort to find my death wobble problem.

Top Five Most Popular Offroad Parks by State (Post #547) 9/25/2015

The good people at PartCatalog have compiled the 2nd Annual Top Offroad Trails in America. They list the top five places by state. Clint Henderson reached out to me last year for a list of places. The list was wildly successful and they have compiled a new list for 2015.

Being as I am an Okie through and through, you might even say dyed in the wool, I am listing our top five. It looks to me like I need to get my butt out these trails.

Looking at the top three sites nationwide. Two of them are in states bordering our fine state.

I’d like to say thank you to Clint and his team for publishing this again this year. Such a great resource.

Road trip!

Thanks for reading, go check out PartCatalog’s latest list, and Happy Rovering.

Fifth Alternator (Post #546) 9/25/2015

I was on a Facebook page just the other day talking to a fellow about a problem he was having that was related to his alternator. He wanted to know what to buy. He was getting lots of “advice”. I told him I bought a NAPA alternator in 2005 and have replaced it 4 times under warranty.

The economics of that beats buying new every few years. Is it inconvenience when the rebuilt alternator craps out every couple of years? Sure it is. But I don’t pay for them and if I bring it in and say its bad, they replace it no questions asked. They don’t even test it. Continue reading “Fifth Alternator (Post #546) 9/25/2015”
